Welcome to djthrash.com

Hi, I'm D.J. Moore.
No photo description available.
I grew up in Pismo Beach and I now live in Orange County but often travel to Los Angeles due to the lack of smaller venues in O.C. that cater to thrash bands. I prefer smaller shows where I can mosh up to the stage.

Growing up listening to classic rock, I find thrash metal shares a similar essence, just with a more intense sound. (How would you compare classic rock to thrash metal?)

The mosh pit is where I thrive. To me, the rhythm guitar establishes the tempo, with the drums and vocals closely following.

My favorite bands were the "big four" of thrash. In my view, there are two types of Metallica listeners: those for whom Metallica is the heaviest band they listen to, and those who think of them as less intense. I tend to lean towards bands that are faster and heavier than Metallica, but I believe the true measure of a band's intensity lies in the energy generated in the mosh pit.

While I don’t have specific favorite bands anymore, I do have my go-to CDs, one of which is "Exodus: Shovel Headed Kill Machine." (What's your current go-to CD?)

The last show attended **Regiment** at '1720', located at 1720 E 16th St, Los Angeles, CA 90021, on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Other acts include **Solicitor** and **Trencher**. The music was great just not enough people there to have a great moshpit.

The next show is at 1st street Pool and Billiards, Los Angeles, Thursday/ 26 March 2026 Whiplash, Hellfire, Fueled by Fire, Stardriver, Chainwolf, Angel Fury, <SOLD OUT!! I thrash (pray) to get in

My next show: 1720 Saturday *Subhumans*

I have tickets for: **Overkill** at The Belasco, 1050 S Hill St, Los Angeles, CA 90015, on April 9, 2026, Also playing:  **Testament** and **Destruction**

Bands I want to see:

Obituary * Morbid Angel * Hatebreed *

I grew up in Pismo, where we didn't go to bars, we went to local parties where early thrash was played by local guitarists. Now, when I go to local shows it brings back memories of those old thrash parties in Pismo.

I am dedicated to helping bands, members, and fans connect in the Los Angeles area or collaborate together. I also assist bands in creating their own websites.

** Rock-N-Roll isn't dead it just sounds like Death Metal **

Why would a band need a Website?

A Website can:
